European Woman Jailed for Jewelry Heist, Husband Acquitted

A European woman in Manama has been sentenced to three months in prison for theft, while her husband has been cleared of charges due to lack of evidence. The incident occurred when the woman was caught on CCTV stealing 13 gold necklaces worth BD2,125 from a jewelry store. The woman admitted to the theft during court hearings, while her husband denied any involvement in the crime.

The store discovered the missing necklaces during an inventory check and reviewed security footage to identify the culprits. They found that the couple had entered the store together, with the woman stealing the necklaces while her husband was distracted. The woman confessed to stealing the items while her husband claimed to be unaware of her actions.

The woman explained that she had gone to Manama with her family to shop and left her children in the car while she entered the jewelry store. She engaged in a conversation with her husband and the store employee while discreetly placing the stolen necklaces in her handbag. The woman was ultimately sentenced to three months in prison for her theft, while her husband was excused due to lack of evidence against him.
