Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi recently attended an honouring ceremony for the first batch of teachers in the Qatari Teachers Fellowship Program (Khebrat). The program, which was launched in 2023 by the MoEHE, sent 15 Qatari public school teachers to Finland for a professional development program. Over the course of two months, the teachers learned about the educational system in Finland and acquired skills that they could apply in their classrooms back in Qatar. The Minister praised the outcomes of the program and highlighted the impact it will have on schools, students, and teachers in Qatar.
During the ceremony, the teachers presented projects that demonstrated their critical thinking and analysis skills, which they could then pass on to their students. The Director of the Training and Development Center at MoEHE, Iman Al Mohannadi, also spoke at the ceremony about the phases, implementation, and results of the Khebrat program. The Ministry is already preparing to open registration for the second batch of the program, with plans to expand the specializations to include subjects like Arabic and Islamic education in addition to science, mathematics, and English.
