A team of volunteer doctors and nursing staff from Tadawi Health Group in Dubai continues to provide free medical check-ups and treatments for patients every Friday at the Tadawi Health Centre in Deira. Since launching the humanitarian programme, ‘Healing with Compassion’, during Ramadan, the group has treated more than 1,000 needy patients and continues to see over 300 patients weekly. Licensed doctors and nursing staff, both Emiratis and expatriates, volunteer their time to ensure that those who cannot afford medical examinations and medications receive the necessary care.

Dr. Shibny Basheer, a volunteer doctor from India, has been with Tadawi for more than two years and is deeply committed to the mission of providing free treatment to those in need. She finds the initiative to be a profound way of improving community health and making healthcare more accessible to those who might otherwise struggle to afford it. Dr. Basheer considers it an honor and a blessing to play a part in such a compassionate programme that contributes to a healthier and more inclusive community.

Another volunteer doctor, Dr. Usman Khan, is motivated by the opportunity to use his skills to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. He aims to address health disparities and provide quality healthcare to needy patients, finding fulfillment and purpose in helping others. Dr. Khan’s dedication to striving for excellence in his profession is fueled by the motivation derived from assisting individuals who require medical care.

The clinic manager, Rameshchand Balagovindan, emphasizes the importance of the initiative in creating a healthy society and providing healthcare to individuals who cannot afford it. With more than 300 patients being seen every Friday, the centre has implemented special appointments for certain cases to manage the high number of visitors. Balagovindan stresses that they never turn away any patient, ensuring that everyone who seeks medical assistance receives the necessary care and attention.

The ‘Healing with Compassion’ programme has become an integral part of the community in Dubai, with the support of dedicated volunteer doctors and nursing staff making a significant impact on the lives of those in need. The initiative continues to receive positive feedback from both patients and volunteers, highlighting the importance of providing free medical check-ups and treatments to individuals who may otherwise go without. By offering healthcare services to the less fortunate, the Tadawi Health Group is playing a crucial role in improving community health and well-being.

As the programme expands and continues to serve a growing number of patients, the commitment of the volunteer doctors and nursing staff remains unwavering. Their dedication to providing compassionate care and making a difference in the lives of those who need it most is evident in their continued efforts to offer free medical services to the community. Through their selfless contributions, the volunteer team at Tadawi Health Group is helping to create a healthier and more inclusive society for all.
