Eid Al Adha is a significant festival for Muslims worldwide, a time for prayers and joyful celebrations. Families often travel to Dubai to celebrate this festival with loved ones. The first day of Eid Al Adha saw residents attending prayers at mosques throughout the UAE. Mosques and open spaces called Eid musallahs hosted special prayers shortly after sunrise, with prayer spaces remaining open from the Fajr prayer. The festival brings together families and friends, with many hosting guests from India who are in Dubai during their children’s school holidays.

One resident, Sameer Haziq, shared his excitement about celebrating Eid with his guests. He mentioned that the extreme heat in India has prompted many to travel to Dubai for a more comfortable experience. The day is filled with celebration, prayers, and delicious food. Haziq explained that guests woke up early, dressed in their best clothes, and headed to the prayer venue. The day is planned with a gala lunch at a relative’s house, featuring traditional Eid dishes like Biriyani and Korma.

Residents in the UAE await the spectacular fireworks that mark the vibrant festivities during Eid Al Adha. It is a time for families to come together and celebrate the festival with loved ones. The significance of Eid Al Adha in Islam aligns with the Haj pilgrimage to Makkah, which is obligatory for Muslims who are able to undertake the journey. Festivals like Eid evoke nostalgia, with residents reminiscing about childhood memories and traditions.

Despite the heat outside, some residents plan indoor activities for Eid celebrations. Nora Hakim shared her plan to visit a board game cafe with friends to spend a relaxing evening. She also mentioned that her mother had prepared traditional delicacies for the occasion. It is a time to enjoy quality moments with family and close friends. The day is filled with activities like prayers, meals, and visits to malls and restaurants for a festive celebration.

For many, Eid Al Adha is an elaborate process of preparation and excitement. Residents engage in pre-Eid rituals like shopping for outfits and getting pampered at salons. The festival brings a sense of festivity and joy, especially for children, who eagerly anticipate the celebrations. Families gather to pray, share sweets, and enjoy traditional delicacies. The day is filled with happiness, laughter, and a sense of community as residents come together to celebrate the festival of Eid Al Adha.
