At just 18 years old, Jamie Camero is making waves in the UAE golf scene with her exceptional talent and numerous wins. Recently, she clinched the EGF Order of Merit Championship at Al Zorah Golf Club, showcasing her skills and determination. Born in Dubai and holding a UAE passport, Jamie is set to embark on a golf scholarship at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in the US. With a +4 handicap and being coached by CH3 professional Joe Marshall, Jamie is ready to take her game to the next level.

The University of Central Florida is known for its excellent golf team facilities and experienced coaches. Jamie will benefit from being under the guidance of Coach Emily Marron, who brings over 24 years of golf coaching and scholarship experience to the table. As Jamie prepares to start her journey at UCF, she reflects on her achievements in the UAE, including representing the country in prestigious events like the World Amateur Team Championship and winning the Faldo Junior Tour Europe Grand Final.

Currently ranked 402 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) – Women’s Division, Jamie has proven herself as a consistent winner in local tournaments and Order of Merits under the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF). Looking ahead, Jamie has her sights set on competing at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and representing the UAE at the Olympics in the future. She is eager to embrace the student-athlete experience at UCF, balancing her passion for golf with academic pursuits and exploring new opportunities in Orlando and beyond.

Despite the strong competition awaiting her in the US, Jamie remains focused on honing her skills and representing both her university and the UAE on the international stage. As she navigates the VISA process and prepares for the start of the term in mid-August, Jamie acknowledges the challenges ahead but remains optimistic about the opportunities that lie ahead. With a supportive team behind her and a drive to succeed, Jamie is ready to make her mark in the world of golf and continue her winning streak on a global scale.
