‘Dhofar Welcomes’ event set to launch

The inaugural “Marhaba Dhofar” event, organized by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, is set to commence on Monday, September 16, 2024. The event aims to strengthen tourism cooperation between Oman and Saudi Arabia, with the participation of key tourism sector stakeholders from both countries. The event will host 40 Saudi tourism companies and 13 media professionals from leading Saudi institutions. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore some of Dhofar’s most iconic tourist destinations, including the beaches of Salalah, the lush green mountains, and the region’s rich heritage and archaeological sites.

The “Marhaba Dhofar” event is aligned with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism’s strategy to enhance connections with regional tourism markets and showcase the diverse experiences Oman has to offer to international visitors. The event will highlight unique offerings such as the “Sarb” season and winter tourism in Dhofar Governorate. In addition to tours, the event will include discussion sessions and bilateral meetings between Omani and Saudi tourism companies, promoting the exchange of expertise and exploring collaborative opportunities to further develop the tourism sector.

Participants at the “Marhaba Dhofar” event will have the chance to discover Oman’s growing reputation as a destination for adventure, relaxation, and conference and exhibition tourism.
