The World Taekwondo Federation delegation’s visit to Qatar Paralympic Committee’s headquarters in Doha marked an important step towards the development of taekwondo for people with special needs in the country. The two sports bodies engaged in discussions to outline strategies and initiatives that will promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the sport.

During the visit, Dr. Hassan Al Ansari, Secretary-General of QPC, expressed his gratitude towards Dr. Chungwon Choue, President of World Taekwondo, for his unwavering support in advancing and expanding taekwondo on a global scale. As a token of appreciation, a commemorative shield was presented to Dr. Choue as a symbol of recognition for his dedication to the sport.

The collaboration between the World Taekwondo Federation and the Qatar Paralympic Committee highlights the commitment of both organizations to promote inclusivity and accessibility in sports. By working together, they aim to create opportunities for individuals with special needs to participate in taekwondo and experience the physical and mental benefits of the martial art.

In recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on creating inclusive environments in sports to ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal opportunities to participate and excel. Through initiatives like the development of taekwondo programs for people with special needs, the World Taekwondo Federation and the Qatar Paralympic Committee are contributing to this inclusive approach.

The visit also served as a platform for sharing best practices and ideas on how to further advance the integration of individuals with disabilities into the world of taekwondo. By fostering collaboration and cooperation between different sports bodies, the potential for growth and development of adaptive sports programs becomes even greater.

Overall, the visit of the World Taekwondo Federation delegation to the Qatar Paralympic Committee’s headquarters in Doha signifies a positive step towards creating more opportunities for individuals with special needs to engage in sports like taekwondo. By working together, these organizations are paving the way for a more inclusive and diverse sporting community where everyone has the chance to participate and thrive.
