The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) of Qatar recently participated in the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly 2024 (WTSA-24) in New Delhi, India, showcasing its commitment to advancing global telecommunication standards. Led by President Eng Ahmad Abdulla Al Muslemani, the CRA delegation engaged in discussions with key leaders from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to highlight Qatar’s capabilities and contributions to sustainable development worldwide.

During the two-week event, Al Muslemani met with ITU officials, including Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin, to discuss setting global standards that promote innovation, enhance security, and support growth in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. These priorities align with Qatar National Vision 2030, reinforcing Qatar’s role in creating a connected, sustainable future on both national and international levels.

CRA also shared its successful experience in spectrum management during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in a collaborative exchange with Commissioners of the Mexican Federal Telecommunications Institute. The delegation also met with Ambassador of Qatar to India H E Mohammed bin Hassan Jaber Al Jaber to discuss Qatar’s preparations for hosting the 2026 ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-26).

The active engagement of CRA at WTSA-24 highlighted its alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030, promoting economic, social, and environmental development through innovative and secure ICT frameworks. By fostering international partnerships, CRA aims to contribute to Qatar’s digital future, supporting the nation’s goals of sustainable growth and international leadership in telecommunications. With a focus on driving global standards and advancements in the ICT sector, Qatar is positioned to play a key role in shaping the future of telecommunications worldwide.

The participation of CRA at WTSA-24 emphasized Qatar’s pioneering role in the digital landscape, showcasing its commitment to advancing telecommunication standards on a global scale.
