Colombia put on a dominant performance in a 3-0 victory over Costa Rica, with goals from Luis Diaz, Davinson Sanchez, and Jhon Cordoba securing the win. With this victory, Colombia is now guaranteed a spot in the quarter-finals of the Copa America, and will be looking to finish at the top of Group D by securing at least a point in their final group game against Brazil. The Colombians are on an impressive 25-game unbeaten streak, dating back to 2022, and will go into the game against Brazil full of confidence.

Liverpool star Luis Diaz opened the scoring for Colombia from the penalty spot in the 31st minute, after a foul by the Costa Rican goalkeeper. Davinson Sanchez then doubled Colombia’s lead in the 59th minute with a well-placed header, before Jhon Cordoba sealed the victory with a superb goal in the 62nd minute. Colombia’s solid defensive display ensured that Costa Rica never threatened their unbeaten run, and they will now turn their attention to their crucial final group game against Brazil.

Meanwhile, Brazil emerged victorious in their match against Paraguay, with Vinicius Junior scoring a goal and providing an assist in a 4-1 win. Despite missing a penalty in the 31st minute, Lucas Paqueta set up Vinicius Junior’s opening goal in the 35th minute to give Brazil the lead. Savinho then doubled Brazil’s advantage before Vinicius Junior struck again just before half-time to make it 3-0. Paraguay pulled one back in the second half, but Paqueta scored from the spot to restore Brazil’s three-goal lead and secure the win.

With this victory, Brazil will be looking to build on their momentum going into their final group game against Colombia, where they will aim to secure their place at the top of Group D. Both Colombia and Brazil have been in impressive form in the Copa America so far, and their upcoming clash promises to be a thrilling encounter between two top South American teams. The stage is set for a competitive and entertaining match as the race for top spot in Group D heats up in the Copa America.
