The Bahrain government has recently achieved a significant milestone by securing the 18th position in the UN E-Government Survey 2024, marking a remarkable leap of 36 places. This accomplishment places the Kingdom among the global leaders in e-government services. The Cabinet expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication (MCICT) and other government agencies that contributed to this achievement.

The weekly Cabinet meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa at Gudaibiya Palace, emphasized the importance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s address to distinguished Bahraini citizens. In his address, the King expressed pride in their accomplishments across various sectors and international forums. The Cabinet highlighted the significance of acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of Bahraini citizens.

Recognizing the upcoming World Tourism Day, the Cabinet stressed the need to double efforts in advancing the tourism sector. It also praised the national workforce for its role in implementing strategies to enhance the development of the tourism industry. The discussions during the meeting also touched on various memorandums, including the approval of priority draft laws aimed at meeting the development needs that benefit citizens, amendments to the decree reorganizing the Ministry of Interior, and the Outer Space Declaration Document.

The approval of priority draft laws aimed at addressing the development needs that benefit citizens underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being and advancement of its people. The amendments to the decree reorganizing the Ministry of Interior reflect the government’s efforts to optimize its internal structures for better efficiency and service delivery. The approval of the Outer Space Declaration Document demonstrates Bahrain’s participation in global initiatives aimed at promoting the management and sustainability of outer space activities.

The achievement of the 18th position in the UN E-Government Survey 2024 is a testament to Bahrain’s commitment to leveraging technology for the betterment of its citizens and improving government services. The government’s focus on advancing the tourism sector aligns with its goal of diversifying the economy and creating new opportunities for growth. The approval of key memorandums during the Cabinet meeting reflects the government’s proactive stance in addressing development needs and participating in international initiatives. With these initiatives and achievements, Bahrain is positioning itself as a leader in e-government services and a destination for sustainable and innovative growth.
