The Harvard Business School’s Club of the Gulf Cooperation Council recently hosted an alumni-exclusive Think Tank event in collaboration with the Bahrain Economic Development Board. The event, titled “Local Talent: Global Reach – Bahrain: A Hub for Talent,” featured H.E. Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, in a fireside chat moderated by Maryam AlQaseer. The event delved into the dynamic talent landscape influenced by rapid technological advancements and the green transition, with a panel discussion including industry experts. The panel explored economic implications, necessary infrastructure, private-public collaborations, and educational measures required to prepare the workforce for future demands.

Saleh Lootah, President of HBS Club of the GCC, expressed delight in the enthusiastic participation at the event, emphasizing the club’s commitment to advancing the regional business, educational, and social climate through active engagement with key stakeholders. He highlighted the mission of the club to bridge the gap between stakeholders, drive innovation and economic growth, foster collaborations, and create an ecosystem that encourages mentorship and lifelong connections. The focus is on supporting Bahrain’s efforts to nurture local talent and make a global impact, driving sustainable progress and prosperity in the Gulf region through strategic initiatives and partnerships.

Nada Al Saeed, Chief of Strategy at Bahrain EDB, emphasized the importance of events like these in providing a platform for dialogue and collaboration among key stakeholders. Bahrain’s dedication to fostering an environment where local talent can thrive and make a global impact was highlighted, with investments in education, technology, and public-private partnerships geared towards preparing the workforce to lead the future. The strategic initiatives aim to ensure sustained progress, economic growth, and prosperity in Bahrain.

The event showcased Bahrain’s strategic initiatives to nurture and leverage local talent on a global stage, recognizing talent development as a cornerstone for economic growth and prosperity. Businesses operating in Bahrain benefit from a young, tech-savvy population and a future-ready workforce consisting of highly skilled, bilingual, and driven Bahraini nationals. The diverse talent pool offers a global perspective, enhancing the competitiveness and innovation of businesses. Bahrain’s investments in talent development and support for local talent initiatives position the Kingdom as a hub for talent with a global reach, driving economic growth and success in the region.
