Anker, a well-known tech company established in Silicon Valley in 2011, recently announced a recall of certain models of their power banks due to a fire risk caused by a manufacturing defect. The affected models include the Anker 334 MagGo Battery (PowerCore 10K), Anker Power Bank, and Anker MagGo Power Bank. It is important for customers who own these models to take action to ensure their safety and prevent any potential hazards.

The company stated that only a small number of batteries from a specific batch, used in products manufactured between January 3, 2024, and September 17, 2024, may be affected by this issue. However, to ensure customer safety, Anker has initiated a recall program as a precautionary measure. Customers are advised not to dispose of the power bank in the trash or recycling bin and to follow specific steps to address the recall.

To determine if your power bank is one of the recalled models, check the bottom of the device for the model number and a 16-digit serial number. If the serial number is less than 16 digits, it is not part of the recall. Customers can verify their serial number on the official Anker website and provide the necessary information for the product recall. It is crucial to store the device safely and avoid disposing of it improperly to prevent any potential risks.

To initiate a replacement with Anker, customers need to provide proof of purchase, such as an order confirmation, a photo of the model number located on the back or side of the power bank, and the serial number of the device. By following these steps and providing the required information, customers can ensure a smooth process for replacing their recalled power bank and ensuring their safety.

It is important for customers who own Anker power banks to take immediate action if their device is part of the recall. By following the outlined steps to verify the model number and serial number, submitting the necessary information, and disposing of the device properly, customers can ensure their safety and prevent any potential hazards. Anker is committed to customer safety and is taking proactive measures to address the issue to protect its customers.
