In a thrilling match in the Ooredoo Stars League (OSL), Al Duhail secured a 1-0 victory over Al Ahli with Michael Olunga’s decisive header. The win helped Al Duhail restore their four-point lead in the league. In other matches, Qatar SC rallied to stun 10-man Al Wakrah 2-1, while Al Shamal dominated with a 5-2 victory over Al Arabi, thanks to Baghdad Bounedjah’s hat-trick. Al Ahli, the only unbeaten team this season, suffered their first defeat, while Al Duhail maintained their top position in the league standings.

The tightly contested match between Al Duhail and Al Ahli saw both teams evenly matched until Olunga’s goal just before halftime. The Kenyan striker connected with a perfect cross from Edmilson Junior to score the winning goal for Al Duhail. Despite Al Ahli’s efforts to equalize, they were unable to breach Al Duhail’s defense. The victory for Al Duhail moved them to 18 points from seven games, while Al Ahli remained in second place with 14 points.

In another exciting match, Qatar SC fought back from a goal down to beat Al Wakrah 2-1. After falling behind early, Qatar SC equalized through a powerful shot from Eisa Palangi before Khaled Mahmoudi’s late header secured the win. The victory lifted Qatar SC to 10th place in the league standings, while Al Wakrah dropped to fifth place on goal difference.

Baghdad Bounedjah was the hero for Al Shamal as he scored a hat-trick in their 5-2 victory over Al Arabi. Despite Al Arabi taking an early lead, Al Shamal came back strongly with goals from Mohammed Omar and Bounedjah in a thrilling first half. Bounedjah’s ninth goal of the season solidified his position as the league’s top scorer. The win for Al Shamal moved them to sixth place in the league standings.

The defeat was the first for Al Ahli this season, and their coach Igor Biscan acknowledged the tough match, stating that they would learn from the loss and come back stronger. The Ooredoo Stars League will continue with the eighth round of matches starting on October 26, with Al Duhail looking to maintain their lead at the top of the table. Overall, the recent matches in the OSL have provided plenty of excitement and impressive performances from the teams involved.
