If you are a company owner located in the Abu Dhabi free zone and are looking to operate outside of the free zone, you may be interested in obtaining a dual licence. This new initiative, launched by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, allows companies to have a presence both inside and outside of the free zone. In order to qualify for a dual licence, you must already have a valid free zone licence for your company. This article will provide a comprehensive guide on how to obtain a dual licence in Abu Dhabi, including the necessary documents, cost, and steps to follow.

To begin the application process for a dual licence, you can visit the TAMM website and click on the ‘Services’ tab at the top of the page. From there, click on ‘Business’ services and select ‘Start a Business’. Locate the ‘Economic Licence’ tab on the left side of the page or scroll down to that section, and then click on ‘Economic Licence/Dual’. You will need to sign in with UAE Pass and submit the required documents along with the application. If necessary, you will also need to obtain approval from the relevant government entities and pay the associated fees.

The documents required for the dual licence application include a declaration and pledge, your free zone licence, and a no objection certificate. The cost for issuing a dual economic licence is Dh790, which covers up to six activities. Any additional activities will require an extra fee of Dh100 each. The estimated time to receive the dual licence is five working days, making it a relatively quick process for companies looking to expand their operations outside of the free zone.

In order to stay informed about the latest news and updates regarding the dual licence and other business initiatives in Abu Dhabi, it is recommended to follow KT on WhatsApp Channels. This will ensure that you are aware of any changes or developments that may impact your company’s ability to operate within and outside of the free zone. By staying up to date with the latest information, you can make informed decisions that will benefit your business in the long run.

Overall, obtaining a dual licence in Abu Dhabi can provide companies with the flexibility and freedom to expand their operations beyond the confines of the free zone. By following the outlined steps and providing the necessary documents, businesses can easily obtain a dual licence and take advantage of the benefits that come with operating both inside and outside of the free zone. With a relatively low cost and quick processing time, the dual licence initiative is a great opportunity for companies looking to grow and thrive in Abu Dhabi’s competitive business environment.
