Financial Literacy Initiative at Kuwait University

The Finance and Financial Institutions Department at the College of Business Administration, Kuwait University, participated in the third edition of the “Bell Initiative for Financial Literacy,” organized by the Kuwait Stock Exchange. This initiative aims to connect academic knowledge with practical experiences, allowing direct interaction between students and industry experts.

On October 12, 2026, Dr. Saad Al-Nahhad, an associate professor in the Finance and Financial Institutions Department, represented the university in a panel discussion titled “From Awareness to Decision: The First Steps in Investment,” held at the Kuwait Stock Exchange.

Enhancing Student Engagement in Finance

Dr. Al-Nahhad emphasized that the College’s participation for the second consecutive year in the Bell Initiative presents a unique opportunity to bring financial and investment topics closer to students. He noted that this initiative is designed to help students understand their financial responsibilities early on and expand their knowledge of the business environment, which supports their readiness for professional life and enhances their ability to make informed decisions.

Furthermore, he encouraged all students from the college to attend upcoming events and take advantage of activities that bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical application.

Student Enthusiasm and Future Activities

In addition, Hussein Al-Roumi, Vice President of the Finance Club, expressed gratitude and excitement for the club’s involvement in organizing the initiative. He confirmed the club’s commitment to raising financial awareness among students, noting that it would continue to offer events and activities throughout the current academic year that serve students’ interests and enhance their academic and practical knowledge.

By engaging in such initiatives, students are provided with essential insights into the financial industry, which can significantly impact their future careers. It also promotes a culture of financial literacy that is crucial in today’s economy.

Looking Ahead: Future Opportunities for Financial Literacy

As the academic year progresses, the Finance Club and the College of Business Administration at Kuwait University are expected to host more events aimed at fostering financial literacy among students. Such initiatives not only facilitate learning but also prepare students for the practicalities of managing finances in their personal and professional lives.

The next anticipated step in this initiative will be to host workshops that delve deeper into investment strategies and financial planning, providing students with further opportunities to engage with seasoned professionals in the finance sector. As financial literacy continues to gain importance, students are encouraged to actively participate and benefit from these enriching experiences.
