National Weather Center Predicts Ongoing Rainfall in Saudi Arabia
The National Weather Center has forecasted continued moderate to heavy thunderstorms today, particularly affecting parts of the Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah regions. These storms may include hail and strong winds that could stir up dust and cause flash flooding. The daily weather report emphasizes a high likelihood of these weather conditions impacting daily life in affected areas.
In addition to severe conditions in the southern regions, lighter rainfall is expected across parts of the Medina, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and northern borders. This diverse weather pattern presents challenges for residents and travelers alike.
Wind Speeds Exceeding 50 km/h in the Red Sea
As for the Red Sea, the report anticipates surface winds to be predominantly northwesterly to northerly, with speeds ranging from 20 to 45 kilometers per hour in the northern part. The central section will experience winds from the northwestern to the western direction at speeds of 15-40 kilometers per hour. The southern area is expected to see winds from the southerly to southeasterly direction at 10-35 kilometers per hour, potentially exceeding 50 kilometers per hour with the formation of thunderstorm clouds.
The wave height is predicted to vary from one to two meters in the northern region, and from half a meter to one and a half meters in the central area. Meanwhile, waves in the southern section may exceed two meters, especially during rain-laden thunderstorms. The overall sea condition is expected to be moderate in the northern seas, while it could be choppy in the southern Red Sea.
Calm Waters Expected in the Arabian Gulf
In contrast, the weather in the Arabian Gulf will be much calmer, with surface winds blowing from the northwesterly to northerly at speeds of 10 to 30 kilometers per hour in the northern section. The southern area will experience similar winds at speeds of 10-25 kilometers per hour. The wave height is anticipated to be between half a meter and one meter, with the sea remaining relatively light.
As weather front systems bring varied conditions across the kingdom, residents are encouraged to stay updated on the latest forecasts and heed any warnings from meteorological authorities. Understanding the evolving weather circumstances can help individuals and communities remain safe and prepared.
Future Weather Updates and Preparations
Important measures include avoiding unnecessary travel during thunderstorms, securing outdoor items, and being prepared for possible evacuations in vulnerable areas. The National Weather Center advises that continuous updates will be provided to keep the public informed of changing conditions.
