Education Ministry Announces School Timetable for All Academic Stages
The Ministry of Education has officially adopted a complete timetable for all educational stages, encompassing kindergarten and the first, second, and third cycles. The implementation of these schedules will begin on September 7 and continue until the end of the academic year. The new timetable details the start and end times for the school day, as well as class timings and break periods, with special arrangements for Fridays.
According to the ministry’s announcement, the weekly class count ranges from 24 for kindergarten, 32 for the first cycle, and 36 for the second and third cycles. The timing varies based on the educational stage, providing flexibility to accommodate various needs.
Timings for Kindergarten and First Cycle
For kindergarten, the school day starts at 7:30 AM and ends at 1:00 PM from Monday to Thursday. The schedule includes various activities such as morning reception and physical education until 8:00 AM. The first class takes place from 8:15 to 9:00 AM, followed by a second class until 9:45 AM.
During the first cycle, two timing options are available. The first option allows students to start at 7:15 AM, concluding at 1:25 PM, while the second option runs from 8:00 AM to 2:20 PM. The daily schedule allows for a structured but flexible learning environment, making it easier for parents and students to adapt to their chosen timings.
Details for Second and Third Cycles
Students in the second and third educational cycles will have a more extensive program consisting of 36 classes per week, each lasting 45 minutes. The boys’ schedule starts on Monday to Thursday at 7:15 AM and ends at 2:15 PM, providing ample time for academic and extracurricular activities.
In contrast, girls in the second and third cycles will attend school slightly later, starting at 8:00 AM and ending their day at 3:15 PM. This distinction in timing reflects an effort to cater to different educational needs and encourage a balanced school experience for all students.
Adjustments for Fridays and Extreme Weather
On Fridays, the school schedule is reduced, ensuring students have a shorter day while maintaining a consistent learning approach. Kindergarten classes will last approximately four hours, with the first cycle scoped to three hours and fifteen minutes.
In light of rising temperatures, the ministry allows flexibility regarding morning assembly times, promoting the safety and well-being of students. Schools equipped with air-conditioned facilities are exempt from adjusting these routines, ensuring ongoing compliance with educational standards while prioritizing student health.
