The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) is set to host the fourth Global AI Summit in Riyadh from September 15 to 17, 2026, under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The event will take place at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center and is expected to draw top government leaders, policymakers, tech CEOs, and experts in data and artificial intelligence.

The summit, which will focus on artificial intelligence, is anticipated to feature high-level participation from around the world, including innovators and researchers. SDAIA President, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, has expressed gratitude to the Crown Prince for his continued support, which has been instrumental in positioning the Kingdom at the forefront of global indicators in advanced technology, according to a statement.

Global AI Summit: A Platform for International Cooperation

The 2026 Global AI Summit builds on the success of previous editions held in Riyadh in 2020, 2022, and 2024. These events have resulted in significant initiatives and agreements with global implications, including the establishment of the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE) under UNESCO’s patronage. ICAIRE, headquartered in Riyadh, aims to advance global AI ethics frameworks.

The summit reflects Saudi Arabia’s broader vision of developing a sustainable economy and showcases the Kingdom’s growing capacity to host major international events. It also highlights the country’s emergence as an active player in the global AI race, working to shape the trajectory of advanced technologies and open new avenues for innovation.

Artificial Intelligence: A Key Driver of Economic Growth

Artificial intelligence is increasingly recognized as a key driver of economic growth, with many countries investing heavily in AI research and development. The Global AI Summit provides a platform for international cooperation and knowledge sharing, enabling countries to learn from each other’s experiences and best practices. The event is expected to feature discussions on the latest advancements in AI, as well as its potential applications in various sectors.

According to Dr. Al-Ghamdi, the summit will provide an opportunity for participants to explore the latest developments in AI and its potential impact on the global economy. The event will also feature exhibitions and presentations by leading companies and research institutions, showcasing the latest AI technologies and innovations.

Shaping the Future of AI

The Global AI Summit is expected to play a significant role in shaping the future of AI, with participants discussing the potential risks and benefits associated with the technology. The event will also provide a platform for countries to share their experiences and best practices in AI development and deployment. As the global AI landscape continues to evolve, the summit is likely to remain a key event in the international AI calendar.

As the fourth Global AI Summit approaches, it remains to be seen what specific initiatives and agreements will emerge from the event. However, with the Kingdom’s continued investment in AI research and development, it is likely that the summit will play a significant role in shaping the future of AI in the region and beyond.

The next steps and outcomes of the summit are expected to be announced after the event, with potential collaborations and agreements to be revealed. Observers will be watching for signs of progress in AI development and deployment, as well as any new initiatives that may emerge from the summit.
