In a thrilling weekend of football in Qatar, Al Duhail emerged victorious over Al Gharafa with a hard-fought 2-0 win, maintaining their one-point lead in the Ooredoo Stars League (OSL). The match saw Qatar striker Almoez Ali return to his goal-scoring form, opening the scoring in the 15th minute with a precise shot into the bottom left corner. Playmaker Hakim Ziyech was instrumental in the victory, assisting Michael Olunga and setting up Ismail Mohamad for the second goal.

With the victory, Al Duhail moved to 44 points in the standings, closely followed by defending champions Al Sadd with 43 points. The race for the OSL title is heating up, with only three matches remaining in the season. Both teams are aware of the importance of every game as they aim to clinch the championship.

Al Sadd put on a dominant performance in their match against Al Wakrah, with star player Akram Afif converting two penalties and Youcef Atal adding a third in stoppage time. The victory saw Al Sadd maintain their pursuit of Al Duhail at the top of the table, highlighting their determination to defend their title.

Elsewhere in the league, Al Ahli secured a crucial 1-0 win over Al Rayyan, thanks to Erik Exposito’s decisive strike in the second half. Julian De Sart’s red card in the 72nd minute further compounded Al Rayyan’s woes as they suffered a setback in their quest for a higher position in the standings.

In another match, Qatar SC and Al Arabi played out a goalless draw, with both teams earning a point to improve their positions in the league table. Al Arabi moved to seventh place with 23 points, while Qatar SC climbed to ninth with 22 points, showcasing the competitive nature of the league.

The weekend’s results have set the stage for an exciting conclusion to the Ooredoo Stars League, with Al Duhail and Al Sadd leading the pack in a tight title race. As the top teams prepare for their upcoming matches, fans can expect more thrilling encounters and intense competition on the road to determining the league champions.
