Royal Oman Police celebrates annual day

Nizwa recently hosted the annual day celebrations of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) on 5 January. The event took place at the military parade grounds of the Sultan Qaboos Academy of Police Sciences in the Wilayat of Nizwa and was held under the patronage of Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court. The ceremony included the graduation of various batches of cadet officers, including those with a Diploma in Law and Police Sciences, as well as officers from the Internal Security Service and the Royal Guard of Oman, alongside officers from Bahrain and Djibouti.

The celebration commenced with a salute to the chief guest, followed by the inspection of the front row of the column by Sayyid Khalid. The graduates then presented a military show before the dais and received awards from the chief guest. The “Banner of Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences” was handed over from the 47th batch of diploma cadet officers to the 47th batch of university cadet officers, with the parade chanting the ROP Anthem and swearing the Oath of Loyalty. The ceremony concluded with chants of “Long Live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander”, a salute to the chief guest, and a parade of ROP Cavalry accompanied by musical tunes by the ROP Band.

During the event, the winners of ROP Awards 2024 were announced, showcasing the dedication and excellence of officers within the force. The ceremony was attended by members of the Royal Family, ministers, advisers, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, and security and military units, as well as representatives from the State Council and the Shura Council, directors general at government units, sheikhs, and dignitaries of A’Dakhiliyah Governorate. The event not only highlighted the achievements of the graduating cadet officers but also served as a demonstration of the unity and strength of the ROP in safeguarding the nation.

The annual day celebrations of the Royal Oman Police in Nizwa brought together a diverse group of cadet officers representing various branches of the force, including the Internal Security Service, the Royal Guard of Oman, and officers from Bahrain and Djibouti. The ceremony included a series of events such as the presentation of awards to top graduate officers, the handing over of the “Banner of Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences”, and the chanting of the ROP Anthem and Oath of Loyalty. The presence of distinguished guests, including members of the Royal Family, ministers, and advisers, added to the significance of the occasion and highlighted the importance of the ROP in maintaining peace and security within the Sultanate.

The event also served as a platform to recognize the dedication and commitment of ROP officers through the announcement of the winners of ROP Awards 2024.
