Qatar Media Center hosts a workshop on creating short films

The Ministry of Culture’s Qatar Media Center recently organized a workshop on short filmmaking, aimed at individuals between the ages of 12 to 22. The workshop, led by Fatima Al Mohannadi, covered various important topics such as selecting suitable ideas for short films, basic photography principles like camera angles and lighting, and choosing the right time for filming to align with the film’s concept.

Participants also learned about essential filmmaking tools such as video editing, text addition, filter application, and how to use auxiliary programs like the CapCut library to enhance videos with music and sound effects. The workshop emphasized practical skills like filming with high quality to prepare for broadcasting, ensuring that attendees were well-equipped with the necessary knowledge to create and share their films.

Iman Al Kaabi, Director of the Qatar Media Center, expressed satisfaction with the workshop’s high registration numbers on digital platforms, indicating strong interest among youth in filmmaking training. The center’s focus on offering courses and workshops that appeal to young people aligns with its commitment to providing relevant opportunities for skill development and growth.

The workshop aligns with the Ministry of Culture’s strategy of prioritizing youth engagement and providing avenues for them to receive essential training and qualifications.
