The Doha Metro and Lusail Tram have been instrumental in providing convenient and efficient transportation options for commuters in Qatar since their launch in May 2019. With the aim of further enhancing the services provided to daily passengers, Qatar Rail has announced that they will be extending the operating hours of these transportation systems starting from January 1, 2025. This decision will allow for greater flexibility and convenience for commuters who rely on the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram for their daily travel needs.

The new service hours for the Doha Metro will be from 5am to 1am from Saturday to Thursday, with extended hours until 9am to 1am on Fridays. On the other hand, the Lusail Tram will operate from 5am to 1:30am from Saturday to Thursday, and from 2pm to 1:30am on Fridays. These extended hours will provide commuters with more options for traveling to their destinations, whether it be for work or leisure, at different times of the day.

The Doha Metro and Lusail Tram, along with their first and last-mile services, such as Metrolink and Metroexpress, have significantly contributed to facilitating passenger movement to major destinations across the country. By extending the operating hours of these transportation systems, Qatar Rail aims to further improve the overall commuting experience for passengers, making it more convenient and accessible for them to use public transportation as their mode of travel.

With the new extended operating hours of the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram, commuters can expect a more seamless and efficient transportation experience, allowing them to travel to their destinations at times that suit their schedules. This initiative by Qatar Rail reflects their commitment to providing high-quality transportation services to the residents and visitors of Qatar, while also supporting the country’s vision for sustainable and efficient public transportation options.

In addition to the extended operating hours, Qatar Rail continues to work on expanding and improving the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram networks, with plans for new lines and stations in the future. These developments will further enhance the connectivity and accessibility of public transportation in Qatar, providing commuters with more options for traveling within the country and reducing dependency on private vehicles.

Overall, the extension of operating hours for the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram marks a significant step towards enhancing public transportation services in Qatar. With improved flexibility and convenience for commuters, these transportation systems will continue to play a crucial role in facilitating passenger movement and supporting the country’s vision for sustainable and efficient public transportation options. Qatar Rail’s commitment to providing high-quality transportation services reflects their dedication to meeting the needs of the community and contributing to the overall development of the country.
