Aluminum Oxide Tops Bahrain’s Import List with 461 Million Dinars

Bahrain’s open data portal has revealed that aluminum oxide has been the top import in terms of value for the Kingdom in 2024. The total value of aluminum oxide imports for the period from January to November reached an impressive 461 million dinars. The data also highlights significant fluctuations in monthly imports, with different volumes and values noted each month.

In January, Bahrain imported over 320,000 tons of aluminum oxide from Australia, valued at more than 45 million dinars. February saw imports of around 150,000 tons (over 21 million dinars), while March imports reached 326,000 tons (over 47 million dinars). April imports totaled 218,000 tons (over 32 million dinars), and May saw an increase to 265,000 tons (over 39 million dinars). June imports decreased to 176,000 tons (over 26 million dinars), but July witnessed a substantial rise to 322,000 tons (over 59 million dinars). August imports were recorded at 260,000 tons (50 million dinars), with a slight decrease in September to 235,000 tons (over 46 million dinars). October imports amounted to 234,000 tons (47 million dinars), and November imports reached 214,000 tons at 49 million dinars.

The high demand for aluminum oxide can be attributed to its versatility and various applications across industries. It serves as a crucial raw material for aluminum smelting, an essential process in aluminum metal production that powers numerous manufacturing processes.
