Amiri Guard concludes infantry competition

The Amiri Guard recently wrapped up its 2024 infantry competition and celebrated the graduation of four specialised courses in a ceremony held at the “Barzan” camp. The courses included a Protection, Rapid Intervention, and Convoy course in collaboration with the French Armed Forces, a Basic Snipers course with the French side, a Facilities Security course, and the Advanced Khazanah course. The event was graced by the presence of Commander of the Amiri Guard, H E Lt. Gen. Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani, along with other senior officials and officers from the Qatari Armed Forces and the Internal Security Force “Lekhwiya”.

Major Abdullah Thawab Al Qahtani, the Chairman of the Infantry Competition Committee, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the annual competition, which saw participation from nine platoons representing different departments and units. He emphasized that the competition plays a crucial role in enhancing preparedness and discipline as the Amiri Guards prepare for the Qatar National Day parade. The Commander of the Amiri Guard awarded the top winners in various competition categories and honoured the first-place graduates from each course, wishing them success in their future endeavors.

The Amiri Guard’s partnership with the French Armed Forces in conducting specialized courses reflects the commitment of both entities to enhancing military capabilities and skills. The courses cover a wide range of training, including protection, rapid intervention, convoy operations, sniping, facilities security, and advanced techniques. The collaboration between the two forces serves as a testament to the strong bilateral relations between Qatar and France, fostering mutual cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of defense and security.
