The State of Qatar’s Ministry of Social Development and Family recently participated in the ‘A Path to Social Justice: Decent Work’ conference in Armenia. Fahd Mohammed Al Khayarin, the Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs, led Qatar’s delegation to the conference. The event brought together representatives from governments, employers, and unions to discuss policies and legislation that ensure labor rights and contribute to social justice, including fair wages, working conditions, and health protection for workers. The agenda also addressed global obligations to achieve a balance between work conditions and basic workers’ rights.

During the conference, panels were held on various topics, including child labor and education, political responses to labor market challenges, women’s economic empowerment, and social justice in the independent business economy. The event also included an awards ceremony for social workers who have made significant contributions to advancing social justice and decent work.

It is essential to highlight the importance of promoting social justice and decent work around the world. By ensuring fair wages, adequate working conditions, and health protection for workers, societies can achieve a more equitable balance between work conditions and basic workers’ rights. Additionally, addressing issues such as child labor, education, and women’s economic empowerment is crucial for creating a more just and inclusive society.

The participation of Qatar’s Ministry of Social Development and Family in international conferences like ‘A Path to Social Justice: Decent Work’ demonstrates the country’s commitment to promoting social justice and decent work globally. The awards ceremony for social workers further highlights the importance of recognizing and celebrating individuals who are dedicated to creating positive change in their communities.

In conclusion, events like the ‘A Path to Social Justice: Decent Work’ conference provide a platform for discussions on critical issues related to labor rights, social justice, and decent work. By bringing together stakeholders from various sectors, these conferences help to foster collaboration and dialogue that can lead to meaningful changes in policies and practices.
