Exciting scientific experiments are ongoing at the Oman Science Festival

The Oman Science Festival 2024 held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre was filled with activities that attracted students, teachers, and science enthusiasts. The second day of the festival featured exciting scientific experiments that allowed visitors to explore modern scientific and technological innovations. There were interactive workshops in various fields such as Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, AI, and Modern Technology where students could apply scientific concepts in practical ways. The event also included a competition called “Environmental Champions” presented by Oman Environmental Services Holding Company “be’ah” and a play titled “Suns of Knowledge” which highlighted the contributions of Muslim scientists to scientific developments. The 4D Frame Company delivered interactive performances on the role of Artificial Intelligence in life, offering educational experiences with AI simulations that enhance human creativity.
The evening events at the festival continued with excitement and enjoyment among the audience. The Mishkat interactive exhibition showcased “Future Expeditors” to raise awareness about renewable energy and Saudi Arabia’s role in the energy field. The Fuel Company presented an interactive performance called “Fuel Story” which told the success story of an Omani fuel factory producing biodiesel from used cooking oil to reduce waste and environmental pollution. Health and academic institutions participated in the festival, offering workshops and events targeting visitors of various age groups to learn about modern technologies in diagnosing and treating diseases, as well as gaining healthy skills and knowledge.
The health and life corner at the festival featured various activities, workshops, interactive competitions, and demonstrations of techniques in the medical field to promote awareness and a health culture for visitors of all ages. The corner of vibrant energies showcased scientific activities and workshops on solar, wind, hydrogen, and electric energy, as well as nanotechnology and peaceful nuclear technology experiments. There were also thermal insulation simulation models and experiences with Fisher Technic tools. Visitors of all ages enjoyed experimental journeys exploring space science and aviation, with innovative simulation experiences, interactive design challenges, virtual races, and a miniature astronomical dome for interactive learning of astronomical components.
Overall, the Oman Science Festival 2024 offered a diverse range of activities and experiences for visitors to engage with modern scientific and technological innovations. The interactive workshops, competitions, performances, and exhibitions provided educational opportunities for students and science enthusiasts to learn and explore various fields of science. The presence of health and academic institutions offered valuable insights into the latest advancements in diagnosing and treating diseases, as well as promoting healthy lifestyles. The festival successfully promoted awareness of renewable energy and environmental conservation practices, while also highlighting the contributions of Muslim scientists to scientific developments. Attendees of all ages were able to enjoy interactive and educational experiences that expanded their knowledge and interest in modern science and technology.
