Review of the GCC Cybersecurity Strategy Meeting

The Sultanate of Oman recently participated in the third meeting of the GCC Cybersecurity Ministerial Committee in Doha. Oman was represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and the Cyber Defence Centre, with Dr. Ali Amer Al Shidhani leading the delegation. The meeting focused on reviewing the GCC Cybersecurity Strategy and the launch of a platform for sharing cyber-threat information among member states. Oman was praised for organizing the 1st GCC Hackathon for Cybersecurity Industry Development and hosting the Regional Cybersecurity Week.

During the meeting, Dr. Al Shidhani emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation among member states to improve cybersecurity levels. He believes that working together will have a positive impact on cybersecurity within the region. The meeting was also attended by the GCC Secretary-General and specialists in the field, indicating the high level of importance placed on cybersecurity in the region.
