Shura Council Reconfirms Leadership of Important Committees

The Shura Council recently confirmed the leadership of several key committees during its regular session. Incumbents such as Khalid Al Masqati and Dr Mohammed Ali will continue to lead the Financial and Public Utilities and Environment Committees, respectively. Dr Jameela Al Salman has been elected as the new Head of the Services Committee, with Dr Mohammed Al Khuzaei and Redha Monfaradi retaining their positions as Head of the Human Rights and Youth Affairs Committees. These uncontested elections aim to ensure stability within the Shura Council as it begins its legislative agenda for the new term.

The Shura Council’s office has expressed its commitment to the development of the legislative process and working closely with the executive branch to achieve national goals. This commitment aligns with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who emphasizes the importance of strengthening legislative work and democratic practices. Mr Al Saleh, head of the Shura Council, congratulated the newly elected heads of the council’s committees and encouraged them to continue their efforts in discussing and reviewing legislation. The council’s office discussed a list of draft laws and reports ready for discussion, as well as topics still under review by the committees. The agenda for the council’s third session was also reviewed during the meeting, outlining the topics to be addressed in the upcoming sessions.

The continuity of leadership within the Shura Council ensures a smooth transition as the council begins its legislative agenda for the new term. The leadership of key committees such as Financial, Public Utilities and Environment, Services, Human Rights, and Youth Affairs remains consistent, providing stability and experience in guiding the council’s legislative efforts.
