Cabinet highlights Saudi Arabia’s efforts to address urgent situations in Gaza and Lebanon

The Council of Ministers in Saudi Arabia, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, highlighted the political and humanitarian efforts to address critical situations in Gaza and Lebanon. The air bridge launched by the Kingdom to support Lebanon during their current crisis was discussed during the Cabinet session. The Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on his discussions with French President Macron and the Iranian foreign minister regarding regional developments and efforts to tackle them. At the UN Conference on Victims of Terrorism, Saudi Arabia emphasized the importance of international efforts to combat extremist ideologies and terrorism, provide support for victims, and empower them through education and rehabilitation. The Kingdom’s commitment to women’s rights and empowerment was reaffirmed at the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women. Domestically, the successful conclusion of the Global Logistics Forum in Riyadh was praised, with hopes that its outcomes will enhance cooperation, logistics services, and economic growth.

The King Salman Royal Reserve’s inclusion on the Green List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature aligns with Saudi Arabia’s conservation efforts and the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative. Several reports on the performance of public agencies in achieving the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 were reviewed, showing significant progress in national strategies and initiatives. The establishment of a technical college in Jazan, the Saudi-Kazakh Coordination Council, and agreements with Pakistan and Venezuela for industrial cooperation were approved by the Cabinet.

Saudi Arabia, through the National Cybersecurity Authority, joined the International Counter Ransomware Initiative to enhance cybersecurity measures. Draft agreements for cooperation in digital government with New Zealand and in the technical field with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees were also authorized for discussion and signing by the relevant authorities. The Cabinet emphasized its commitment to supporting Lebanon and Gaza during their critical situations, as well as its efforts to strengthen international relations and address important global issues.
