Longines Hathab: Al Suwaidi and Jumaa Secure Victories in Second Leg

The second leg of the eighth Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour saw Khalid Jassim Al Suwaidi and Saeed Hamad Jumaa emerge as winners in the amateur and Medium Tour classes, respectively. In the amateur class, Al Suwaidi claimed victory with a time of 24.49 seconds on his horse Pepsi, narrowly edging out Abdullah Saleh Al Obaidli and Faisal Mohammed Al Nuaimi. The Medium Tour class was won by Jumaa, who completed the course in 43.7 seconds on Amber. Rashid Tuwaim Al Marri and Ali Saeed Al Misnad secured second and third place, respectively.

The Medium Tour team competition featured Al Fardan taking the top spot with 130 points and a time of 96.96 seconds. The Wathnan and Lekhwiya teams followed in second and third place, showcasing the competitive spirit of the event. Tournament Director Faisal Al Kahla and Director of the Media and Live Broadcast Committee Abdullah Al Qashouti presented the awards to the winners, highlighting the prestigious nature of the competition.

Badr bin Mohammed Al Darwish, President of the Qatar Equestrian and Modern Pentathlon Federation, commended the technical skills displayed by riders in the first two rounds of the championship. He emphasized the importance of this improvement in preparing Qatari teams for regional and international events. Al Darwish also encouraged the public to support local riders throughout the upcoming rounds, showcasing the importance of community involvement in the equestrian sport.

The Longines Hathab consists of 14 rounds held at the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Al Shaqab’s Longines arenas, providing riders with a platform to enhance their skills and compete for prestigious titles. The championship plays a significant role in the region’s equestrian calendar, attracting riders from all over to showcase their talents and compete at a high level. With increasing participation and skill levels, the event is sure to continue growing in popularity and becoming a staple in the equestrian community.

Overall, the second leg of the Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour highlighted the talent and competitiveness of riders in both the amateur and Medium Tour classes. With close finishes in both categories and impressive performances in the team competition, the event showcased the dedication and skill of participants. As the championship progresses, it will continue to draw in crowds and provide a platform for riders to excel and represent their country on a global stage.
