Indian Club Bahrain Celebrates Onam Festival 2024 in Full Swing

The Onam Festival 2024 celebrations at The Indian Club in Bahrain are in full swing, with a series of cultural events captivating attendees. Renowned playback singer and folk song specialist, Mrs. Praseetha Chalakudy, delivered a powerful performance of folk songs on the fourth day of the festival, electrifying the stage and sweeping the audience into a festive mood. The festivities continued to grow on the fifth day with the Ghoshayatra Competition, where five talented teams competed, followed by a mesmerizing folk music and fusion band performance by Aaravam Bahrain.

The results of the Ghoshayatra Competition were announced, with Our Clicks winning the first prize, Shrestha taking the second prize, and Voice of Trivandrum securing the third prize. Individual awards were also given out, with Our Clicks winning Best Float, Best Mahaweli, and Best Theme, while Shresta won Best Character and Voice of Trivandrum won Best Performer. Additionally, Our Clicks received a Special Jury Award for their outstanding performance.

The Onam festivities will culminate with the highly anticipated ‘Onasadhya’ (traditional Onam feast) on Friday, October 11th, 2024. This grand feast, which will serve 2,500 people, will feature 30 delicious items prepared on the Club premises by celebrity Sadhya specialist, Mr. Jayan Sukumara Pillai. Served on traditional banana leaves, this feast promises to be a treat for all attendees.

The President and Executive Committee of The Indian Club expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors, with special recognition given to the major sponsors of the event, including Megamart, African Eastern, BQ Fresh, Mrs. Naina Mohammed, and First & Best Constructions. The Onam Festival 2024 at The Indian Club continues to foster unity, celebration, and cultural appreciation, drawing crowds and creating lasting memories for all participants.
