James Earl Jones, the renowned American actor widely recognized as the voice of Star Wars villain Darth Vader, passed away at the age of 93 on Monday. His agent, Barry McPherson, confirmed to the media that he died early in the morning, surrounded by family. Jones had a prolific acting career, with notable roles in films such as Field of Dreams, Coming To America, Conan the Barbarian, The Lion King, and Star Wars.

Among those who paid tribute to Jones following his death was Mark Hamill, who portrayed Vader’s son, Luke Skywalker, in Star Wars. Hamill shared a report of Jones’ passing and wrote “RIP Dad” with a broken heart emoji. US actor Colman Domingo also expressed his gratitude towards Jones for his contributions to the craft of acting, acknowledging him as a master in the field. Similarly, Kevin Costner, who appeared in Field of Dreams alongside Jones, praised his booming voice, quiet strength, and kindness, highlighting the impact of his legacy on the film industry.
