Qatar leads 20th meeting of GCC Ministers and Heads of Civil Service and Administrative Development Agencies Committee

The State of Qatar recently held the 20th meeting of the GCC Ministers and Heads of Civil Service and Administrative Development Agencies Committee, which took place at the Sheraton Grand Doha Hotel. The meeting was chaired by H E Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, with the participation of Ministers and Heads of Civil Service Agencies from GCC countries. Al Khalifa, who also serves as Secretary-General of the National Planning Council, emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to achieve common goals in civil service and administrative development. He highlighted the significance of exchanging expertise among GCC countries to enhance government performance.

The meeting served as a platform for fruitful cooperation and coordination among sisterly GCC countries in response to the rapid developments in the world. H E Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, GCC Secretary-General, expressed gratitude to H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his continuous support as the Chairman of the current session of the Supreme Council of the GCC. Al Budaiwi praised the efforts made by the leaders of GCC countries in advancing joint Gulf action. The meeting focused on discussing ways to develop civil service agencies and implement best practices in human resource development. Topics on the agenda included updates on GCC strategic initiatives for civil service and human resources development.

Their Excellencies and Highnesses were briefed on various topics including the initiative of joint training programs and workshops among GCC countries. These initiatives aim to invest in human capital and enhance competencies in civil service sectors. Discussions also involved the implementation of practical training and expert exchange projects, as well as the program to honor competencies in the civil service sectors of GCC countries for the year 2024. The meeting underscored the importance of continuous learning and development in civil service and administrative sectors to adapt to the evolving global landscape.

The participants at the meeting emphasized the exchange of knowledge and best practices as a key factor in achieving excellence in government performance. Collaborative efforts between GCC countries will continue to strengthen the capabilities of civil service agencies and contribute to the overall development of human resources. The commitment of GCC leaders to supporting joint initiatives and training programs showcases a shared vision for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of government operations. By fostering cooperation and coordination among member countries, the GCC aims to align its strategic goals in civil service and administrative development with global advancements.
