Saudi Arabia’s participation in the Egypt International Aviation Show 2024, held at Alamein International Airport, highlights the kingdom’s commitment to the aviation and aerospace industry. The event, inaugurated by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, saw the participation of over 300 companies from more than 100 countries.
The opening ceremony of the show was attended by senior Saudi officials, including General Authority of Civil Aviation President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, Deputy Commander of the Air Force Maj. Gen. Talal Al-Ghamdi, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh Al-Hussaini, and Military Attaché to Egypt Brig. Gen. Abdul Karim Al-Sudais. The participants were briefed on the aircraft participating in the exhibition, such as the Saudi F-15 aircraft and the Typhoon aircraft.
During the exhibition, El-Sisi and other officials toured the smart exhibition hall, which showcased national and international aircraft and space industry manufacturers. The Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) pavilion featured solutions and systems, including a facility protection system using artificial intelligence and drones, as well as capabilities in aircraft design, development, and production.
The airshow kicked off with a performance by the Egyptian Air Force’s Silver Stars aerobatic team, followed by a solo display of a Rafale jet. The Saudi Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft also performed a solo air show, demonstrating mastery and precision in various maneuvers. The event aims to advance industrialization, digitalization, and globalization within the defense, space, and commercial aviation sectors in Africa and the Middle East.
The Egypt International Aviation Show provides an international platform for the aviation industry and space agencies to discuss achievements in space exploration, satellite communications, and civil and military applications of space technology. The show is the largest of its kind in Africa and the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and innovation in the aviation and aerospace sectors.
