Oman Customs recently conducted raids in Muscat Governorate, seizing over 11,500 restricted and prohibited cigarette cartons from an expat’s house in Amerat. Additionally, a shop in the Seeb market was raided, resulting in the confiscation of more than 430 cigarette cartons and 305 kilograms of tobacco derivatives. The Compliance and Risk Assessment Department was responsible for these successful operations.

In another incident, a group of foreign women were arrested in Muscat Governorate for engaging in immoral acts and begging. The Royal Oman Police stated that legal actions are currently underway against these women from various nationalities. This serves as a warning against such behavior within the country.

Furthermore, the Royal Oman Police also arrested an individual in Dhofar Governorate for possessing over 100 bundles of khat, a drug of abuse. The Dhofar Governorate Police Command, in collaboration with the Special Tasks Unit in Salalah, conducted the operation and is in the process of completing the necessary legal procedures against the perpetrator.

These recent events highlight the commitment of law enforcement agencies in Oman to crack down on illegal activities and substances within the country. Such operations aim to maintain peace and order while upholding the laws and regulations set forth by the government. It sends a clear message that illegal behavior will not be tolerated in Oman, and those found guilty will face the consequences of their actions.

This proactive approach by the authorities also serves to protect the well-being of the citizens and residents of Oman. By cracking down on illegal substances like khat and enforcing regulations on prohibited items like cigarettes, the government ensures the safety and security of the community. These actions contribute to a safer and more secure environment for everyone living in the country.

In conclusion, the recent raids and arrests conducted by Oman Customs and the Royal Oman Police demonstrate the government’s dedication to upholding law and order. By taking swift and decisive actions against illegal activities and substances, the authorities are sending a strong message that such behavior will not go unpunished. These efforts contribute to a safer, more secure, and law-abiding society in Oman.
