Make Me King secures victory in Gr3 Prix Quincey

Make Me King, a four-year-old horse trained by Hamad Al Jehani, achieved a major victory in the Gr.3 Barriere Prix Quincey at Deauville. This win marked the first Group victory for Al Jehani since relocating to Newmarket earlier this year. Ridden by jockey James Doyle, Make Me King, the son of Dark Angel, put on an impressive performance in the race.

Having previously been trained by Andre Fabre in France, Make Me King made his debut under Al Jehani’s guidance last December in Doha. During the race, Make Me King stayed midfield behind Apax, gradually closing in on the leader Top Gear. In the final stretch, the talented gelding surged ahead to secure a two and a half length victory. Top Gear finished in second place, with Sea Of Thieves taking third.

After the race, Doyle expressed his happiness for trainer Hamad Al Jehani, highlighting the significance of the first European Group win for the Qatar-based trainer.
