The Ooredoo Stars League (OSL) saw defending champions Al Sadd rise to the second spot after a resounding 5-0 victory over Al Arabi, with Rafa Mujica stealing the show with a stellar hat-trick. This victory helped Al Sadd close the gap to just six points behind the league leaders Al Duhail, who maintained their top position after a narrow 1-0 win against Umm Salal. Qatar SC also secured their first victory of the season with a 1-0 triumph over Al Shamal.

Rafa Mujica’s heroics began early in the match, with him converting a penalty in the eighth minute to open the scoring. He added a second goal in the 26th minute, followed by goals from Akram Afif and Giovani. Mujica completed his hat-trick with a goal in the 89th minute, sealing Al Sadd’s dominant performance at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium. On the other hand, Al Duhail secured their third consecutive victory courtesy of an own goal by Umm Salal’s Victor Lekhal at the Khalifa International Stadium.

In the match between Al Duhail and Umm Salal, the turning point came in the 49th minute when Lekhal inadvertently turned the ball into his own net while trying to clear a cross from Luis Alberto. While Umm Salal had opportunities, with Marouane Louadni coming close in the 72nd minute, Al Duhail’s goalkeeper Salah Zakaria made crucial saves to maintain the clean sheet. Meanwhile, Qatar SC bounced back from previous defeats with a 1-0 win over Al Shamal, with Ahmed Abdel Kader scoring the winning goal in the 46th minute.

As a result of this victory, Qatar SC moved up to the seventh spot in the league, pushing Al Gharafa to the bottom. Looking ahead, Al Gharafa will face a tough challenge against Al Rayyan at the Al Bayt Stadium. In other upcoming matches, Al Ahli will clash with Al Khor at the Al Thumama Stadium, while Al Wakrah will take on Al Shahania at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium. The competition in the Ooredoo Stars League remains intense as teams vie for supremacy in the league standings.

Overall, the recent matches in the Ooredoo Stars League have provided exciting action for football fans in Qatar, with standout performances from players like Rafa Mujica and Ahmed Abdel Kader. With Al Duhail and Al Sadd showcasing their dominance in the league, the race for the top spot promises to be thrilling as the season progresses. Fans can expect more intense matches and memorable moments as teams compete for glory in the prestigious OSL.
