Qatar Handball Association (QHA) has appointed Veselin Vujovic of Montenegro as the new coach of the Qatar Handball team, replacing Spaniard Valero Rivera. Vujovic, who has a successful coaching career with notable achievements, will be officially introduced at a press conference at the QHA headquarters in Duhail. Having competed as a player at the 1984 and 1988 Summer Olympics for Yugoslavia, where he won gold and bronze medals respectively, Vujovic brings a wealth of experience to his coaching role.

With significant coaching success including a bronze medal at the World Championship in 2017 with Slovenia, a quarter-final appearance in the EHF Champions League with RK Zagreb, and a Cup Winners Cup victory with BM Ciudad Real, Vujovic has proven himself as a capable and accomplished coach. Despite a recent departure from Croatian champions RK Nexe, Vujovic’s track record speaks for itself in terms of his ability to lead teams to success on the handball court.

As a former world-class player with the Yugoslavia national team, Vujovic has a storied career that includes numerous medals and titles. From winning gold at the 1981 Junior World Championship to being named World Handball Player of the Year in 1988, he has left a lasting impact on the sport. His coaching career has seen him work with top clubs such as Vardar Skopje, Metaloplastika Sabac, Partizan Belgrade, and Ciudad Real, as well as national teams including Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Iran.

Veselin Vujovic’s appointment as the coach of the Qatar Handball team signifies a new chapter in his coaching journey, with the opportunity to lead a talented group of players in a quest for success on the international stage. With his vast experience as both a player and a coach, Vujovic brings a unique perspective and knowledge of the game that will benefit the Qatar team as they prepare for upcoming competitions. The Qatari handball community can look forward to seeing Vujovic’s influence and leadership in action as he takes on this new role.

The partnership between Veselin Vujovic and Qatar Handball Association represents a strategic move to elevate the performance and competitiveness of the Qatar Handball team. With Vujovic’s proven track record and expertise in coaching, the team is poised to make significant strides in their development and achievements. As Vujovic officially assumes his role as head coach, the expectations are high for the Qatar team to reach new heights in the world of handball under his guidance and leadership.

In conclusion, Veselin Vujovic’s appointment as the coach of the Qatar Handball team is a significant development in the world of handball, with the potential to bring success and growth to the team. With his impressive credentials and experience, Vujovic is well-equipped to lead the Qatar team to achieve their goals and make an impact in the global handball community. As fans and supporters eagerly await the team’s performance under Vujovic’s leadership, the future looks bright for Qatar handball with him at the helm.
