Indian School Muscat (ISM) celebrated a significant milestone in 2024 as it marked its 50th anniversary with a year-long celebration. The event kicked off with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque symbolizing the school’s rich legacy and commitment to future generations. Dignitaries such as His Excellency Shri Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to Oman, and Dr Siva Kumar Manickam, Chairman of Indian Schools in Oman, graced the inaugural ceremony. Principal Rakesh Joshi highlighted the school’s journey from its modest beginnings in 1975 to its current status as one of the most respected educational institutions in the Gulf region.

The school’s dedication to fostering academic excellence, creativity, and character building has been unwavering since its inception. The ISM@50 anthem, composed and performed by the performing arts department, added to the celebratory atmosphere. Guest of Honour Dr Siva Kumar Manickam emphasized ISM’s role as a beacon of knowledge for the Indian diaspora in Muscat for five decades. He praised the school’s evolution into an institute of remarkable repute and congratulated it on achieving this significant milestone. The unveiling of the Golden Jubilee commemorative plaque by Ambassador Amit Narang was the centerpiece of the event, symbolizing ISM’s enduring legacy and excellence in education.

Ambassador Narang commended ISM’s achievements and its pivotal role in shaping the lives of students over the past five decades. He recognized the school’s contributions to the success of the Indian community in Oman and its role in India’s growth story through the accomplishments of its alumni. The commemorative plaque stands as a permanent testament to ISM’s legacy, inspiring future generations with the words “50 Years of Excellence in Education.” The event marked the beginning of a year of celebrations, showcasing the school’s commitment to shaping young minds and hearts for generations to come with passion and dedication.

As the Golden Jubilee celebrations continue, Indian School Muscat remains focused on inspiring and leading with the same dedication that has defined its first 50 years. The school’s journey from its humble beginnings to its current status as a respected educational institution is a testament to the vision of its founders, the dedication of its staff, and the support of the Indian community in Oman. The celebration of ISM’s golden jubilee serves as a reminder of its promise to continue providing holistic education and community engagement in the future. With events planned throughout the year, the school looks forward to continuing its legacy of excellence for many years to come.
