RM Sotheby’s, a global car auction company, is set to hold its second Dubai auction of the world’s rarest cars on December 1, 2024, following a successful auction earlier this year. The new sale will take place at the Emirates Golf Club in partnership with the 1000 Miglia Experience UAE, and details of early consignments will be shared in the coming weeks. The company recorded $17 million worth of sales in March 2024, with the 2016 Koenigsegg Agera RSR selling for a record $3.38 million.
The March auction featured some of the world’s rarest supercars, including a pre-World War II 1935 Bugatti and a 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie. Currently, unique car models such as the 2000 BMW Z8, the 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, the 2016 McLaren 675 LT Spider, and the 2009 Lamborghini Murciélago LP640-4 Roadster are listed on RM Sotheby’s website. The auctioning firm will announce a selection of early consignments for the December auction.
With over 40 years of experience in the collector car industry, RM Sotheby’s is the world’s largest collector car auction house by total sales. It has been responsible for six of the top ten most valuable motor cars ever sold at auction. Peter Wallman, chairman for UK and EMEA at RM Sotheby’s, expressed excitement for the upcoming auction in Dubai, highlighting the company’s growth in the region and its success in the previous auction.
The upcoming sale in Dubai will coincide with the 1000 Miglia Experience UAE, adding a new dimension to the event. Martin Halder, founder of Octanium Group and organizer of the 1000 Miglia Experience UAE, emphasized the importance of the partnership in developing and supporting the automotive enthusiasts’ scene in the Middle East. December is becoming the region’s ‘automotive season’ with events like the 1000 Miglia Experience, RM Sotheby’s new sale, Cavallino Middle East, and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix taking place in the month.
