DP World and Evyap Group have recently finalized a strategic merger that will bring together two major ports on the Marmara Sea in Türkiye. The completion of this merger has been approved by the Turkish Competition Authority, allowing DP World to acquire a 58% stake in Evyapport, while Evyap Group secures a 42% share of DP World Yarımca. The new entity, named DP World Evyap, will see the introduction of ‘DP World Evyap Yarımca’ and ‘DP World Evyap Körfez’ as the new names for these key maritime gateways. This merger aims to meet the increasing demand for sophisticated logistics in the region, boost Türkiye’s export and import volumes, open up growth opportunities in new sectors, and strengthen the country’s role as a major hub in global supply chains.

The combined entity, DP World Evyap, will offer a total of 2,088 meters of berthing space, allowing for the simultaneous handling of multiple ultra-large container vessels at both terminals. With a total annual container handling capacity exceeding 2 million TEUs, the integrated operation will also provide project and heavy lift cargo services. Additionally, DP World Evyap will benefit from advanced road and rail links, as well as expedited turnaround times, supported by a team of over 900 logistics experts dedicated to optimizing cargo journeys.

DP World Group Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem expressed his excitement about the strategic partnership with Evyapport, emphasizing DP World’s vision of leading global trade towards a more efficient and sustainable future. The collaboration is expected to bring enhanced end-to-end solutions to customers in Türkiye and deliver speed and efficiency in cargo operations. Kris Adams, CEO of DP World Türkiye, highlighted the economic benefits that DP World Evyap will bring to the region, providing customers with a powerful new service offering at the core of this vital area for global trade.

Mehmed Evyap, founder and CEO of Evyap Holding, shared his positive outlook on the partnership, highlighting the combination of global expertise from DP World and local knowledge from Evyapport as a driver for success in the port sector. The partnership aims to shorten operation times, increase service diversity, and add value to customers and Türkiye’s trade by leveraging efficiencies across the two partnership terminals. Overall, the merger between DP World and Evyap Group signals a significant development in the logistics and supply chain industry in Türkiye, positioning the country as a key player in international trade.
