The Oman team excels at world military skydiving competition.

The National Skydiving Team of the Royal Army of Oman recently achieved great success at the 2024 World Military Skydiving Championship (SESM) held in Hungary. The team secured first place in the Arab and Gulf countries categories, third in Asia, and tenth globally. Over 400 jumpers from 40 countries participated in the event, showcasing high technical skills and accuracy in hitting the target.

The National Skydiving Team’s participation in the championship is part of the Royal Army of Oman’s efforts to compete for military sports titles, enhance performance levels, physical fitness, and technical skills in regional and international competitions. The team’s journey began with initial preparations at home, followed by training in Slovenia and participation in the European Cup Championship in preparation for the SESM event.

Parachutist Lieutenant Colonel Saif bin Salem Al-Tobi, head of the National Skydiving Team delegation, expressed pride in the team’s performance, highlighting their efforts and achievements on the regional and global stage. Captain Parachutist Abdul Rahim bin Muftah Al Riyami, leader of the team, emphasized the team’s high skills that led to their success in the target accuracy game, securing top positions in various categories.
