As temperatures rise and the mercury hits a new high of 50.8℃, residents in the country are being warned about the dangers of heat exhaustion. Doctors are sharing tips and precautionary measures to stay safe during this scorching season. To provide relief to workers and delivery riders, the country has implemented several initiatives. In the midst of the hot season, residents can now enjoy some much-needed relief with these 5 free offerings.

Despite the intense heat, the UAE is still experiencing occasional rain showers. At Sharjah’s Zawaya Walk, visitors can experience simulated rain shows to help cool off. These rain shows are free for all visitors and last for 5 minutes with intervals of 1 hour between 9am and 12pm, and 5pm to 11pm. All are welcome to bring an umbrella or simply enjoy the rain without any gear.

What better way to beat the heat than with a free ice cream cone? Commuters can grab a cone at Metro stations on specific dates and times provided by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The cones come in five delicious flavors and are available for workers and delivery riders as well. Another option for free refreshment is free buttermilk offered at Madurai Restaurant in Abu Shagara from 11am to 3pm daily. Buttermilk is not only hydrating but also lower in fat than regular milk.

Staying hydrated is crucial during the hot summer months, and free water bottles and refill stations are available in Sharjah and Dubai. Residents in Sharjah can benefit from a 68-year-old Pakistani biker who distributes free bottled water on weekends. Additionally, Dubai Can provides free water in over 50 refill stations across the city. Keeping the community hydrated is essential for preventing heat-related illnesses and ensuring overall health.

If staying active is your goal, take advantage of free access to an indoor gym at Dubai Sports World (DSW). Visitors can use the gym for free from 8am to 12pm during the summer and engage in various activities like yoga lessons and running clubs. Amidst the scorching temperatures, finding ways to cool off and stay active is essential for both physical and mental well-being. Whether you’re enjoying a rain show, indulging in free ice cream, or staying hydrated with free water bottles, there are plenty of ways to beat the summer heat for free in the UAE.
