The partnership aims to host workshops and conferences to educate the public on the emerging technology. The VBA has launched the Academy of Blockchain and AI Innovation, with the goal of enrolling one million individuals by 2030, including 100,000 students from 30 universities in Vietnam. This initiative includes a board of directors, scientific council, and an executive committee comprised of leading blockchain experts.
Vietnam has shown strong cryptocurrency adoption, ranking third in total crypto gains according to a 2023 report by Chainalysis. The country has a significant number of cryptocurrency owners, with the most likely age group being between 25-34 years old. Through its partnership with the VBA, Tether aims to broaden stablecoin education in Vietnam by conducting educational conferences in major cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. CEO of Tether, Paolo Ardoino, expressed excitement about the collaboration and the opportunity to educate Vietnamese communities about blockchain technologies.
The VBA and Tether plan to provide comprehensive learning opportunities to the younger generation through joint training and research programs. This initiative aims to equip students with the necessary skills to navigate the digital era and enhance their fintech knowledge. Vice chairman of VBA, Phan Duc Trung, emphasized the importance of empowering young people with blockchain education to prepare them for the future. Additionally, the blockchain academy has launched the UniTour 2024 program tailored for university students, sponsored by Tether, to offer valuable insights into blockchain applications based on university requirements.
