Ali Makki, Ali Hassoun, and Mohammed Hassoun, three Emirati cousins based in Dubai, have teamed up to establish the sustainable venture Kilimanjaro Energy Group. Ali Makki, a member of several pearl trading families in the region, has a background in energy engineering and has been recognized with the Forbes 30 under 30 award in the Middle East. The trio realized their shared vision, trust, and reliability, leading them to create the Kilimanjaro Energy Group, which recently signed an MoU with Skyworth Group for new energy projects in the Middle East and Africa.

The cousins’ partnership aims to leverage their complementary skills and the supportive business environment of the UAE to achieve their goals while continuing their family legacies. Skyworth Group, a Chinese enterprise, brings strong supply chain integration capabilities and expertise in digitalization to the collaboration. Kilimanjaro Energy Group specializes in renewable energy projects development in Africa and the Middle East, with a focus on green energy initiatives in the region.

Ali Makki emphasized the importance of creating change and transforming traditional oil families in the Middle East into new energy pioneers. His entrepreneurial spirit, paired with a commitment to building a diverse and innovative team, drives his success in the GCC markets. He believes in the synergy between men and women entrepreneurs in Dubai, citing the region’s focus on women empowerment as a key factor in fostering limitless possibilities for collaboration.

Ali Hassoun, the youngest of the three cousins, shared the childhood memories that solidified their bond and led to their partnership in Kilimanjaro Energy Group. Despite their individual pursuits, they found joy in building makeshift forts, playing games, and spending time with family. Ali Makki’s return to Dubai after completing his education in the West was motivated by a desire to apply his knowledge in a region with talented individuals and visionary goals.

The collaboration between Kilimanjaro Energy Group and Skyworth PV company aims to promote green energy development through commercial and industrial photovoltaic and energy storage projects in the Middle East and Africa. The group’s commitment to sustainability and innovation reflects the changing landscape of the energy sector in the region. The cousins’ dedication to their shared vision and values is evident in their approach to building a successful and sustainable future through renewable energy projects.
