In a thrilling Group II match at the IHF Men’s Beach Handball World Championships in China, Qatar faced title-holders Croatia and put up a tough fight. Despite their spirited performance, Qatar ultimately fell short and suffered a 2-0 defeat. The match took place at the Pingtan International Beach Sports Base in Pingtan Island, where Qatar’s Ahmed Hassan Mohamed and his team gave it their all. Despite Croatia’s favored status, Qatar managed to pose a significant threat in the crucial encounter.

Croatia took the lead in the opening period, with Lucian Bura causing the most damage to the Asian champions. However, Qatar came back stronger in the second period, pushing Croatia to their limits. The Europeans ultimately secured another narrow victory in the second period, winning the match with a 2-0 scoreline. Qatar’s top scorers, Amir Nowraddine Denguir and Hani Marwan Kakhi, delivered impressive performances scoring 11 and 12 points, respectively. Despite their efforts, Qatar was unable to secure a win against the formidable Croatian team.

Following the defeat, Croatia moved to the second spot in the Group II standings, behind Germany who secured a 2-0 victory against Argentina. Portugal also claimed a 2-0 win against the USA, placing them in third position. The USA, Qatar, and Argentina follow in the standings, with Qatar in fifth place. With Croatia and Germany remaining unbeaten in the tournament, Qatar will need to secure full points and rely on other results to advance to the quarter-finals. Only the top four teams from each group will progress to the next stage of the competition.

In their upcoming matches, Qatar will face Argentina and Portugal as they aim to secure crucial points and keep their hopes of advancing alive. Despite the challenging competition, Qatar will look to capitalize on the strengths of players like Ahmed Hassan Mohamed and Amir Nowraddine Denguir to turn their fortunes around. With determination and perseverance, Qatar will continue to give their all in pursuit of success in the IHF Men’s Beach Handball World Championships. Fans and supporters will be eagerly watching as the team battles it out on the sand in China, hoping for a turnaround in their fortunes in the tournament.
