Qatar reaffirms its strong support for Sudan’s unity, stability, and sovereignty

The State of Qatar has reiterated its solid support for Sudan’s unity, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as the rights of the Sudanese people to life, freedom, and security. In a statement delivered at the 56th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Qatar expressed its rejection of any interference in Sudan’s internal affairs. Qatar is closely monitoring the deteriorating humanitarian, security, and economic situation in Sudan, recognizing that the ongoing conflict will only bring more suffering to the Sudanese people. Qatar calls for all parties involved in the conflict to prioritize the well-being of their country and its people by engaging in comprehensive and meaningful dialogue to bring an end to the fighting, restore security, and resolve the crisis.

The State of Qatar has voiced its support for the joint Saudi-US initiative aimed at resolving the conflict in Sudan. Qatar also welcomes other regional and international efforts to help achieve a peaceful resolution to the crisis. The statement emphasizes the importance of halting all crimes and violations against civilians in the context of the conflict and holding those responsible accountable. Qatar remains committed to providing humanitarian assistance to the Sudanese people and calls on the international community to increase its support for Sudan. The State of Qatar urges all parties involved in the conflict to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need without any restrictions.

The Deputy Permanent Representative of the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar in Geneva, Jawhara bint Abdulaziz Al Suwaidi, highlighted the urgent need for the parties in the Sudanese conflict to prioritize dialogue and peace over continued violence and suffering. Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of ending the fighting, restoring security, and resolving the crisis to alleviate the humanitarian and economic hardships facing the Sudanese people. Qatar firmly believes that a peaceful and inclusive dialogue is the only way to bring about lasting peace and stability in Sudan.
