On 23 June 2024, the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum in Doha will be hosting a special event in celebration of International Olympic Day under the theme “Let’s Move 2024 X Paris 2024”. This event, in collaboration with the Olympic Museum Network, Qatar Olympic Committee, Sports Federations, and Get Started Sport Center, aims to inspire the community to participate in sports and honor the rich heritage of the Olympic Games.

The “Let’s Move 2024 X Paris 2024” programme will offer a variety of exciting activities for participants of all ages. Visitors can look forward to engaging in interactive competitions in the Activation Zone, which will focus on aspects like speed, height, and strength – in keeping with the Olympic motto of “Citius, Altius, Fortius”. Winners will be recognized and awarded medals for their achievements, adding to the competitive and dynamic atmosphere of the event.

In addition to the competitions, there will be demonstrations in various Olympic sports activities throughout the day, giving attendees the opportunity to test their speed, agility, and strength. Workshops will also be held, centering on the core Olympic values. Participants can take part in creative activities such as crafting crowns for the winners of the Ancient Olympics and gold medals for the Modern Olympics. The workshops will also feature the Paris 2024 mascot, offering a fun and educational experience for all.

Abdulla Yousuf Al Mulla, the Director of the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, expressed his excitement about inviting the community to join in the celebrations of International Olympic Day. He emphasized that the event is a unique opportunity for everyone to immerse themselves in the excitement and spirit of the Olympic Games firsthand. The diverse range of activities is designed to inspire individuals of all ages to stay active and embody the values of excellence, friendship, and respect that the Olympics embody.

This event is a reflection of the museum’s mission to research, collect, educate, and share the stories of global and Qatari sports in a captivating and empowering manner. Through its participatory spaces and well-planned programming, the museum aims to inspire and engage the community, encouraging them to partake in sports and physical activities. The event promises to be a day filled with energy, competition, and the celebration of the Olympic spirit.
