Volunteers Sondos Al-Darwish and Menna Jamil have dedicated their lives to offering life-saving healthcare services to pilgrims. Their journey began from a young age as they sought out those in need and offered help in any way they could. Al-Darwish fulfilled her childhood ambition by joining a health college and learning basic skills to assist patients. She joined the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in 2021 and quickly advanced to a team leader position, where she assists pilgrims from around the world facing serious health issues.

One memorable incident Al-Darwish shared was when she successfully saved a pilgrim’s life who was suffering from severe chest pains. Despite being unable to describe his condition due to the pain, Al-Darwish and her team diagnosed him with a stroke and provided the necessary medical assistance. Similarly, volunteer Menna Jamil has been with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority for about four years and has developed her skills to become a team leader. She recounted a touching incident at the Grand Mosque in Makkah where a blind female patient expressed deep gratitude and happiness towards her after receiving pain relief from the medical team.

The experiences of these two volunteers highlight the importance of engaging in community work with enthusiasm, humanitarian spirit, and dedication. Their commitment to spreading knowledge, goodness, and aiding others serves as an exemplary model for society. The smiles and gratitude of those they help serve as their greatest reward, and the impact they have on people’s lives is immeasurable.

Volunteering not only benefits the community but also provides personal growth and fulfillment. Al-Darwish and Jamil’s dedication and passion to help others have not only saved lives but have also brought immense joy and gratitude to those they have assisted. Their work exemplifies the true meaning of selflessness and compassion, inspiring others to follow in their footsteps and make a positive impact on the world around them.

As they continue their work with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, Al-Darwish and Jamil hope to inspire others to join them in their mission of providing life-saving healthcare services to those in need. Their experiences serve as a reminder of the power of kindness and the profound impact it can have on individuals and communities. By sharing their stories, they hope to encourage others to embrace the values of compassion, empathy, and service to create a better and more caring world for all.
