A new initiative led by MP Mohammed Janahi has been launched to address unemployment in Bahrain by uniting leading companies to offer job opportunities across various sectors. The objective of this initiative is to create practical job opportunities for job-seekers in different fields, providing a platform for companies to connect with potential employees and for job-seekers to explore new opportunities. The initiative will culminate in an employment fair on Saturday, 8 June 2024, at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Manama, where representatives from participating firms will receive CVs, conduct interviews, and engage with job-seekers. All interested individuals, including experienced professionals, university graduates, and unemployed individuals without degrees, are encouraged to attend the event.
The Ministry of Labour is involved in this national undertaking, with approximately 40 companies currently participating and the possibility of more joining. The initiative aims to facilitate 300 job placements and provide training services, some of which are supported by the government’s Tamkeen programme. Ali Makki, the owner of Business Hub and a principal partner, emphasized that the project is exclusively directed at unemployed Bahraini citizens seeking enhanced job prospects. He highlighted the social responsibility of business owners to participate in such initiatives, which offer considerable promise for addressing unemployment in Bahrain.
By bringing together companies and job-seekers, providing training opportunities, and collaborating with government entities, this new employment initiative has the potential to have a significant impact on the lives of many Bahraini citizens. Marwa Radwan of the Think Smart Institute, a partner in the venture, expressed optimism about the initiative and the possibility of more companies joining to offer job opportunities across various sectors. The initiative not only aims to provide job placements but also offers training services to help enhance the skills of job-seekers and increase their chances of finding employment.
The employment fair on 8 June 2024 will provide a platform for job-seekers to interact with representatives from participating companies, submit their CVs, and potentially secure job placements. This initiative is a step towards combating unemployment in Bahrain by creating opportunities for unemployed citizens to explore new job possibilities and connect with companies looking to hire. With the involvement of government entities, business owners, and training services, this initiative holds the potential to make a significant impact in addressing unemployment in Bahrain and improving the job prospects of its citizens.
